Common Baseball-Related Injuries We Specialize In

Baseball is a physically demanding sport, but it also comes with its fair share of injuries. Understanding these common baseball-related injuries is essential for prevention and effective rehabilitation.

Rotator Cuff Injuries

The rotator cuff, a group of muscles and tendons in the shoulder, is essential for pitching and throwing. The repetitive motion involved in baseball can lead to rotator cuff injuries. Symptoms may include pain, weakness, and limited range of motion. Our baseball physical therapy focuses on strengthening these crucial shoulder muscles and restoring your throwing abilities.

Tommy John Surgery (UCL Injury)

Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) injuries, often requiring Tommy John surgery, are common among pitchers. This injury can result from overuse and stress on the elbow's UCL. Our baseball sports medicine specialists provide comprehensive care for UCL injuries, both pre- and post-surgery, to help you regain your pitching prowess.

Elbow Tendonitis

The intense pitching and throwing in baseball can lead to elbow tendonitis, particularly on the inner and outer sides of the elbow.

Labral Tears

The labrum is the cartilage surrounding the shoulder's socket. It can tear due to repetitive overhead motions, leading to pain and instability.

Hamstring Strains

The sprint to first base or the sprint in the outfield to catch a baseball can result in hamstring strains that can keep a player out if not treated properly.
